1 in 4 Pakistanis (23%) say they wear glasses for weak eyesight.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 1 in 4 Pakistanis (23%) say they wear glasses for weak eyesight.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Do you wear glasses for weak eyesight?” In response to this question, 23% said yes they wore glasses for weak eyesight, 74% said no and 3% did not know or wish to respond.

Among rural respondents, 19% said yes they wore glasses for weak eyesight, 79% said no and 2% did not know or wish to respond. Among urban respondents, 31% said yes they wore glasses for weak eyesight, 64% said no and 5% did not know or wish to respond.

Near equal proportion of men (23%) and women (22%) said they wore glasses for weak eyesight.

Generational Differences:

According to an age breakdown, near two third respondents who were above the age of 30 said they wore glasses for weak eyesight. Meanwhile, only 12% millennials said they wore glasses.
