According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, nearly half of Pakistanis (45%), who drive, opine that the existing penalties for breaking road safety laws in the country should be increased.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces who answered in affirmative about driving at least one kind of vehicle, was further asked, “In your opinion, should penalties for breaking road safety laws be more, less or remain the same?” In response to this question, 45% said there should be more penalties, 26% said there should be lesser penalties and 28% said the penalties should remain the same. 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.
