According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 49% Pakistanis believe that Shahbaz Sharif was arrested to undermine PML-N’s position in by-elections. 42% do not agree with this.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “How much do you agree or disagree with the following statement regarding Ashiana scandal case; Shahbaz Sharif was arrested to weaken PML-N’s position in by-elections?” In response to this question, 28% said completely agree, 21% said somewhat agree, 19% said disagree, 23% said completely disagree while 9% did not know or respond to the question.
