According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, at 83%, the vast majority of Pakistanis believe before helping others, one should first look after oneself and one’s family.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell us how much you agree or disagree with the statement that before helping others, you should look after yourself and your family first?” In response to this question, 74% agreed completely, 9% agreed to an extent, 10% neither agreed nor disagreed, 5% disagreed, 1% completely disagreed, while another 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.
