Afghanistan Did Not Commit To Release 5,000 Talibans: Ashraf Ghani

The Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani, has back tracked on the Afghan’s government earlier commitment of releasing 5,000 members of the Afghan Talibans.

In a statement Ashraf Ghani said that the Afghan government is not bound to release the aforementioned number of prisoners of Afghan Talibans.

He went to add that they didn’t make any such commitment of releasing taliban prisoners. According to Ashraf Ghani, only the afghanistan’s people and government has the roght to decide about releasing talibans.

Furthermore, he stated that the matter pertaining to the release of these prisoners can be added into Afghan intra dialogue.
