Nawaz Sharif, Maryam likely to return to Pakistan next week

LONDON: The supreme leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz will likely to return to Pakistan in a week.

According to reports, the decision was taken after consulting with the senior leaders of the party as well as pressure from some party workers.

Reports added that some party leader suggested that Maryam Nawaz should return to Pakistan before Nawaz Sharif and the suggestion is under consideration.

Nawaz and Maryam intend to lead their party’s campaign ahead of the upcoming general elections of 2018 and Nawaz also ordered party leadership organize party gathering in different cities for election campaign-related rallies.

Earlier, Maryam Nawaz says decision to return linked with mother’s condition and regarding the election campaign she responded that her party was being targeted and that it was not possible to keep it out of the public’s reach.

Maryam Nawaz will contest the forthcoming elections from Lahore’s NA-127 and PP-173 constituencies.

She refused to answers, while asking about the National Accountability Burea’s (NAB) sudden proceedings on Saturday.

Nawaz Sharif and his family are facing three corruption references in the accountability court — Avenfield Properties, Al-Azizia Steel Mills, and Flagship Investments — wherein they are accused of money laundering, tax evasion, and hiding offshore assets.
