The historic peace agreement between the US and the Taliban will be signed today

The historic peace agreement will be signed today in Qatar to end a two-decade long war between the US and the Taliban.

Under the Doha agreement, US forces will be withdrawn from Afghanistan, while the Taliban are guaranteed that Afghan territory will not allow terrorist organizations, including al-Qaeda, to be used.

Representatives from 50 countries including Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will attend the ceremony.

The agreement between the United States and the Taliban in Doha, the capital of Qatar, will prove to be the best milestone not only in historical but also on peace, security and prosperity in Afghanistan.

The Doha peace agreement will not only end the nineteen-year war between the US and the Taliban, but also pave the way for lasting peace in the region, including Pakistan.

Under the Doha agreement, full ceasefire will be ensured in Afghanistan; follow-up of the agreement will include talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government for permanent peace.

The agreement will pave the way for the evacuation of 14,000 US and 17,000 NATO troops in Afghanistan.

There have been several successful and unsuccessful periods of the ongoing talks between the United States and the Taliban in 2018, the result of these negotiations and the desire for peace from the sides, facilitating the signing of the US and Taliban on the Afghan peace agreement in Doha, facilitating Pakistan. There is a victory in the statement that Pakistan has said that there is no military solution to the Afghan problem.

According to a new schedule of signatures, the peace agreement will signed at 5:45 pm according to Pakistani time.

US Taliban acknowledges efforts of Pakistan: Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the peace agreement between the United States and the Taliban is a great honor for Pakistan and they acknowledges peace efforts.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is in Doha to attend the signing ceremony of a peace agreement between the US and the Taliban at the invitation of Qatar.

In this regard, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said he hoped that a peace agreement between the United States and the Taliban would be signed tomorrow (February 29) and representatives from 50 countries, including foreign ministers from different countries, would attend the ceremony.

He said it was a great honor for Pakistan and acknowledgment of Pakistan’s efforts.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said India tried its best to obstruct the Afghan peace deal, Pakistan’s identity was emerging and India was going down.

Speaking to the Pakistani community in Doha later, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the US and Taliban peace deal would not benefit Afghanistan and Pakistan but the entire region would have its benefit. If there is stability, then there will be opportunities for bilateral trade promotion.

He said that peace in Afghanistan will help achieve peace, we will benefit from 1000 KSA projects, peace in Afghanistan will restore our Central Asia links and we will have cheaper electricity in case of hydropower.

He said that our future is linked to peace in Afghanistan. When we said that the Afghan issue had to be resolved through negotiations, it was ridiculed.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the future of Afghanistan has to be decided by the Afghans themselves. They also have to decide what they want to set the future scenario for.
