South African Women Team beat Pakistan Women Team by 17 runs in the 15th match of Group B of the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup in Australia.
South Africa batted first and scored 136 for six in the stipulated 20 overs. Proteas captain Dane van Niekerk was dismissed for three, while Laura Wolvaardt was unbeaten on 53 while Marzanne Kapp scored 31 runs.
Pakistan’s Diana Baig took 2 wickets while Anam Amin, Aiman Anwar, Arooba and Nida Dar took one wicket each.
The Pakistani team did not perform very well in the chase of South Africa’s target. Pakistan’s innings started with batsmen Muniba Ali and Javeria Khan, who failed to perform well.
In the match against South Africa, Aaliyah Riaz scored 39 runs while Javeria Khan scored 31 runs. The Pakistani team did not perform well in chase of the target, and in 20 overs, the team was restricted to 119 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.
South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba, Shabnim Ismail and Dane Van Niekerk took one wicket each. It is to be remembered that England defeated Pakistan in Group B match at the Women’s T20 World Cup.
The South African team is ranked first in Group B at the points table, beating England and Thailand in their first two matches, and after defeating Pakistan, the team has now reached the semi-finals.
